ELDERS QUORUM
The Melchizedek Priesthood helps God’s children prepare to return to His presence. It holds “the keys of all the spiritual blessings of the church” (Doctrine and Covenants 107:18). Each elder is part of an organized group of priesthood holders called an elders quorum. Members of the elders quorum work together to help accomplish God’s work of salvation and exaltation. They serve others, fulfill priesthood duties, build unity, and learn and live doctrine
Happy New Year everyone,
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season celebrating the birth of our Savior and His life. We also hope that you enjoyed the New Year's holiday and that the holiday season was an enjoyable one for you and your loved ones. Speaking of the New Year's holiday, I always enjoy it as I see it as an opportunity to start anew. Recently I looked up the word "anew" in the dictionary, and the meaning reinforced some of the feelings I have regarding the New Year and the chance we have to be better humans. In the New Oxford American Dictionary it defines the word anew as "in a new or different and typically more positive way." I hope that turning the page on a new year might allow all of us a chance to be different in a positive way and become better versions of ourselves. In fact, it seems appropriate that the New Year holiday happens right after we celebrate the birth of the only person who can help us be better in a positive way. Through the birth, life, and death/atonement of Jesus Christ, we have the unique opportunity to really be different versions of ourselves in a positive way through repentance and faith in Him who has given his life for us.
